Where are those icons
Over the years my exposure to English music had been restricted to the occasional MJ or Backstreet Boys or Britney Spears(yuck) number on MTV.Of late I got a lot of oppurtunities to diversify into a lot of stuff like Metallica,Pink Flloyd,Nirvana,Led Zepplin ,Mark Knoffler etc etc.And i like SOME of their songs.I loved Pink Flloyd and Knoffler the most.They were just too good.Which brings me to a question.I want you people to help me out with it.
1)I feel that for the past few years now there is no universal English music artist or genre.
The reasons could be:
a)Today's artists are not good enough
b)Today we are all exposed to more choices and therefore there is fragmentation of interests.
c)Everyone's life has become too busy to hear a lot of music.
d)I am ignorant(If so please throw some light on who is today's BEST).
